It’s time to send the RDU support letter

RTA members and partners,

As RTA’s top priority, we are committed to the search for a sustainable funding for RDU Airport, with our immediate focus being federal funding for the new runway.

We have seen a good response this year for our shared campaign for federal funding for RDU infrastructure, in concert with our member chambers of commerce, the Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina, and the Triangle-J Council of Governments.

With the holiday season in full swing, it is time for each of us to give the gift of mobility to our region’s future, by writing a support letter to USDOT from each of our respective companies for a new, longer, primary runway at RDU.

We have greatly simplified the support letter template. It can be downloaded here:

A number of our member companies have submitted letters this year to the FAA. Please take 10 minutes this week and send your letter, if you have not already done so this year.

The new 10,639 foot runway, which was approved by the FAA in April, will be a big step forward for our airport and our region. Let’s help our partners at RDU serve our region by maximizing federal funding for what will be the most important 2.01 miles of pavement in the Triangle.

Let’s get moving,
Joe
