RTA members and partners,
This week, a vital regional transportation connection achieved an important milestone.
The Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina and GoTriangle — both longtime members of the RTA Regional Leadership Team — announced that Hoffman and Associates had been selected as the master developer of the “Triangle Mobility Hub” project in Research Triangle Park.
The RTP mobility hub will serve as a prime connection point linking a future BRT extension between Cary, Morrisville, and RTP with a future RTP train station serving our state’s growing intercity rail service from Wake County to Charlotte.
The hub will also serve as a new regional bus hub, and anchor a future live-work-play mixed use district near Miami Boulevard, I-40, and the Hub RTP downtown project. The project team also includes RTA Leadership Team member HDR.
RTA continues to support this project including letters to our Congressional delegation requesting additional federal funding, and we look forward to its opening, and the development of the surrounding neighborhood community, in just a few years.
Congrats to our partners, and the region, for advancing this critical mobility hub in the heart of Research Triangle Park.
Let’s get moving,
Joe Milazzo II, PE
