Triangle Leaders Discuss Mobility

Earlier this week, business leaders from Wake County and across the Triangle convened in Beaufort to attend the Raleigh Chamber Annual Leadership Conference. Attendees heard from Het Patel with the City of Raleigh, Logen Hodges with the NC Turnpike Authority, and Michael Landguth with RDU Airport on the state of multiple transportation initiatives affecting our region.

These projects included the New Bern Avenue BRT as well as future BRT corridors, the 540 turnpike which will open next month, and the replacement of runway 5R-23L and other infrastructure at the airport. Some of these are weeks away from opening (540), months away from starting (BRT), and years away from advancing (several).

We appreciate the leadership of Het, Logen, Mike, and other key partners who are working every day to advance needed mobility infrastructure for our market. The projects can take a long time, but the benefits last even longer. We are pleased to support these professionals and their efforts.

Let’s Get Moving,
Joe Milazzo
RTA executive director
