Final opportunity to advance regional transit initiative — comment deadline today
As we noted in our prior weekly member briefing (scroll down), and in a communication to our members earlier this week, we have an opportunity to advance regional transit in our market, by endorsing the Wake Transit plan update.
The proposed plan includes an expanded BRT network — including freeway BRT along I-40 — as well as a new rapid transit linkage to RDU Airport. You can view an online “story map” of the plan here.
Please take a moment to endorse the plan if you have not already done so. Click here for a short, pre-addressed template message you can use or modify. Please send your note by this week’s response deadline — ideally COB today, but no later than this Saturday, May 31. Please contact me directly at joe@letsgetmoving.org with questions.
RTA Brunch — Sponsorships available, registration moving along nicely
Our regional conversation on advancing enhanced transit will continue this summer at the RTA 2025 Transportation Brunch: Moving Towards a FAST Transit Future. The event will be held on Friday, August 8th from 9 AM – 11:30 AM at the Westin RDU Airport hotel.
You and your clients will enjoy this event, as it will include the release of the FAST transit 2.0 study, and its focus on freeway, arterial, street, and tactical transit, including a proposed I-40 exchange station at RDU Airport.
Please send a note to Jacob if your company would like to serve as an event sponsor.
In addition, to claim your included RTA member tickets for the event, please email Jacob Rigg or registration coordinator Alea Morales.
Let’s get moving,
Joe Milazzo II, PE
