RTA Member briefing: January 19

A growing year at RDU, and an ongoing focus for RTA

Earlier this month, at the semi-annual RTA Steering Committee meeting, we heard from RDU Airport CEO Michael Landguth, who gave a presentation recapping the year RDU airport had and the ongoing growth in flights and usage. I invite you to take few moments to review the slide presentation he delivered during the meeting. You can also visit this week’s RTA blog post for some of the highlights.

RTA’s top organizational priority continues to be sustainable funding for RDU Airport. We will continue to push for federal funding for the new primary runway, which is currently under construction. Later this year, we expect to revisit the most recent recommendations from the excellent work of our RDU AID (airport infrastructure development) task force as we look to support additional funding options and opportunities at the airport.
