Hyperloop returns to North Carolina

Less than three months ago, the regional business community welcomed several members of the Virgin Hyperloop One team to the Research Triangle, as the focus of our annual RTA breakfast event.

Next month, VHO team members return to the Triangle — this time with their CEO, Jay Walder, and with the current version of the hyperloop test pod.

RTA is the lead sponsor of the transportation track at the annual Triangle J Council of Governments Regional Summit on October 10. Our investment level is called the “futurist” sponsor, and what better glimpse of our mobility future than to have the hyperloop pod visit the regional summit. The VHO pod will be there all day.

The next day, October 11, the pod will head to Research Triangle Park, where it will be available to view from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Frontier. Since October 11th is a Friday, that means the food truck rodeo will be also be there, so you can have your pod and eat too.

RTA and some key partners will have a few minutes to meet with the CEO and learn more about his plans for Virgin Hyperloop One, his thoughts on next steps for hyperloop and how our region might engage. We will speak to the VHO team about the opportunities of our market.

More to come as the future of mobility moves forward.
