More investments in a great international airport

The regional business community has maintained the importance of continued investments in RDU airport infrastructure for many years.

We were very pleased to see the Airport Authority approve more than $400 million in major infrastructure improvements related to the construction of the airport’s primary runway at a special board meeting last week.

Maryland tour approaching waitlist

Thank you to the more than 40 regional leaders who have registered for the RTA tour to the Annapolis and Suburban Maryland area next month, on July 20 and 21, 2026.

We will tour the largest transit depot microgrid in the nation, learn about and travel to existing and emerging BRT transit corridors, and visit excellent examples of both a junior freeway and a dynamically priced multimodal turnpike. We will also gain visibility on ramp management and transit policy initiatives.

Please click here for the growing list of confirmed attendees, and also please review the current list of speakers from Maryland.

You can register via this link. We are not currently on a waitlist, but we are approaching one, so I encourage our members and partners who would like to attend the tour to please register as soon as possible. Please let me or RTA membership operations coordinator Jacob Rigg know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your membership in RTA. Have a great weekend, everyone

Let’s get moving.

Joe
