Funding and financing RDU

In a prior weekly blog we noted that we have named a 12-member regional task force to explore expense and revenue options for Raleigh-Durham International Airport in response to accelerated growth and capital funding needs at RDU.

The RTA RDU Airport Infrastructure Development (“AID”) task force is currently reviewing relevant information about RDU’s infrastructure and operating needs.

The task force’s work has begun — you can view the presentation from our first meeting here.

As I noted last week to the Triangle Business Journal, my sense is that the next few meetings will continue to be information gathering with some discussion.

To that point, if you are interested in providing any questions or suggestions for the task force, you can provide them via email to RDUAID@letsgetmoving.org.

I am confident that by our annual meeting in January, the task force will have developed at least some preliminary recommendations for new sources of revenue and funding at RDU.
