Here is a brief weekly update from the RTA business coalition – the voice of the regional business community on transportation.
Deadline to attend annual RTA Breakfast
I hope you have registered for the RTA annual breakfast at The Umstead a week from today. Next Friday morning’s event will feature a series of short presentations and a panel discussion with leaders from NCDOT, Virgin Hyperloop One, RDU Airport, RTP, and more. Your ticket is included with your membership, but you must register in advance — so please sign-up today, or over the weekend.
Let’s do one thing to declare independence from traffic congestion
As we look ahead to the second half of 2019, our sense is that it may be one our best ever as an organization and a region. With positive momentum on transit, freeways, funding, and more — along with innovations to keep us moving — now is a great time to ask a peer company to declare independence from traffic congestion by joining you as an RTA member. Our 2019 Chair Geoff Lang with MetLife, Membership Sales Chair Robert Doreauk with AT&T, and the entire RTA team are grateful for your support, and the kind words you can offer to others to make the regional business community’s voice even stronger.
NC Railroad Forum next month
Speaking of looking ahead, our friends at the NC Railroad Company — an RTA Leadership Team member — are having their next Progress in Motion event next month. See this link for more information, and/or to register, for the August 2019 forum.
Finally, I hope that you are enjoying the holiday weekend with your family. If you are traveling, I invite you to read this week’s Thursday Thoughts at 3 blog with some tips for getting around traffic — and I wish you safe travels.
