A nice media story about our work

I was pleased to have WRAL news reach out to us a few weeks ago about traffic trouble spots in our beloved Triangle. The story ran earlier this week, you can read it here and/or watch the video here. Brian Shrader was the reporter. He noted several of the biggest traffic headaches mentioned by station viewers; the online story also mentioned that a big focus for RTA is pushing for improvements at RDU. You can read or watch the story with the preceding links, and/or read more in this week’s blog.

The State of Mobility now includes The State of RDU

Improvements to airport infrastructure remain our top strategic priority as an organization, and in late January we will receive a great update from our partners at RDU Airport:  Our upcoming annual meeting, The State of Mobility, will include “The State of RDU” this year. Please get with our colleague Alea Morales to claim your included tickets. You can contact Jacob Rigg for additional information, including a confirmation of the number of tickets at your current membership level and/or sponsorship or membership upgrade questions.

Let’s help I-40

We mentioned this in a prior briefing:  RTA and NCDOT have launched the I-40 Rapid, Scalable Implementation Task Force. This focus group will explore and recommend strategic goals for I-40 across the I-40 Regional Partnership area; i.e., from the I-40/I-85 junction in central Orange County to the I-40/I-95 junction in southern Johnston County. The revised date for the task force is Thursday, December 11, from 3 pm – 4:30 pm. A very limited number of spots are remaining if you want to participate, please register here.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support of regional business leadership on transportation. Have a great start to your Thanksgiving week, everyone.

Let’s get moving,
Joe
