RTA Member Briefing: November 1

RTA members and partners,

In this week’s weekly member briefing, we focus on our approved business plan and a new e-bike voucher program in our capital city. In addition, please be on the lookout for more information later this month from RTA about advancing electrification in transportation.

RTA 2025 Business Plan

The RTA Steering Committee unanimously approved our RTA 2025 Business Plan at last month’s semiannual meeting. This plan is organized into 3 major sections:  strategic advocacy priorities, rapid implementation initiatives and organizational priorities – and each section has exactly three focuses for the year.

The top strategic priority of the regional business community will continue to be identifying a sustainable business model for RDU infrastructure. Accelerating the US 1 Capital Boulevard freeway is our highest rapid implementation initiative. Read this week’s blog for more information.

Raleigh e-bike voucher program has begun

The City of Raleigh’s first e-bike rebate program application officially opened to the public earlier this week. There are 2 voucher types: $500 “standard” and $1,500 “income-adjusted” Any permanent city of Raleigh resident 18 and older can apply for a voucher; applications for the larger income-adjusted vouchers are restricted to those that make 80% Raleigh Area Median Income or less.

The deadline for applying is November 10; please note that applying early does not increase or decrease the likelihood of being selected for a voucher. Visit the program website for more information.
