Here is a brief weekly update from the RTA business coalition — the voice of the regional business community on transportation.
Guide GoTriangle commuter rail study
The regional business community has endorsed the study of commuter rail along the NC Railroad Company corridor in our region – and our RTA members can help. GoTriangle has an active survey open through November 6 on the potential of commuter rail; please take a moment to participate. We are interested in exploring possible ways to initiate, and potentially accelerate, a viable commuter rail option. The current study, which may last 12-18 months, will help inform both the “when, what, and how” of that question.
Inform new Durham Transit plan
The City and County of Durham have launched a survey for the creation of a new Durham Transit plan. The goal is to understand the priorities of residents, employees, and everyone who cares about the future of mobility in Durham. I would encourage you to take a moment and complete the survey; you can learn more about the listening and learning engagement elements that informed the survey here.
19 minutes of powerful leadership – RTA 19th annual meeting
We are just over six weeks away from what will be our fastest annual celebration ever. While the meeting will last a bit longer than 19 minutes, it will be efficient, and we are going to keep our core content focused on a 19 minute block of time within an exceptional online meeting. The 19th annual meeting is on November 19th. Registration is included with your membership, and it is going strong; be sure to sign-up here.
Thank you for delivering focused regional business leadership through your membership in the RTA!
Let’s get moving,
Joe
