RTA Member Briefing: June 14

Reminder:  RTA online general membership meeting on transit acceleration — this Monday morning

There are more than 60 RTA members and partners registered for our one hour, online-only, “RTA transit acceleration” general membership meeting this coming Monday, June 17 at 11 am.

We will hear from several transit partners about ways our region’s transit agencies are working to make transit rapid.  It is not too late to register you and/or a colleague via this link; and there is no cost to participate.

RTA tour is Tuesday

With more than 65 registrants for our RTA QuickTour in Richmond this coming Tuesday, we are looking forward to an exciting day of information sharing, discovery, and partnership on topics ranging from BRT to transit fare policy to freeway caps. While we are past the deadline to register; if you or a colleague still want to attend, please email me directly — and quickly, as we may have one or two slots remaining.

I-87 is the primary north-south Interstate in the capital county

While I-87 will not be on the agenda this coming Tuesday during our RTA tour to central Virginia, advancing the Interstate remains an important priority for the regional business community in the Research Triangle area. We look forward to continuing and rekindling partnerships with fellow members of the business community and other partners in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Read more in this week’s blog.

Have a great weekend, everyone.

Let’s get moving,
Joe Milazzo II, PE
RTA executive director
