RTA Richmond BRT Tour coming This June

RTA members and partners,

Next month RTA will hold our first out-of-market tour in more than two years, and our first to Virginia’s capital in five years.

The regional business community will host a one-day RTA QuickTour in Richmond, Virginia on Tuesday, June 18.

Registration is now open at this link: www.letsgetmoving.org/RTAQuickTour

Here are the particulars:

  • Timing – Our tour program time in Richmond will be 10 am – 4 pm. This does not include time for travel (on your own) from our area to central Virginia. There will also be an optional, bonus walking tour after the formal tour program; see below.
  • Agenda highlights – We will explore the existing freeway cap over their downtown expressway, learn about a proposed cap over I-95, visit the Pulse BRT and adjacent land uses, and hear about their current zero fare transit policy. The event will also include brief remarks from some of our local leaders. Visit our website for the agenda.
  • Cost – Pricing is $175 for RTA members, and includes morning snacks, lunch, an afternoon closing reception, and all tour programming and materials. We are providing discounted registration pricing for our public sector/nonprofit partners of $95. Travel to Virginia is not included in the pricing.
  • Bonus tour – There will also be an optional walking tour of an iconic pedestrian bridge after the conclusion of the formal program (i.e., after 4 pm). There is no additional cost to attend the optional walking tour.
  • Sponsorships – Your company can serve as a tour sponsor for $999. A tour sponsorship include recognition both before and during the tour as well as 3 tour registrations. Thank you to Williams Mullen for serving as our host sponsor for the tour.
  • Attendees – Current tour registrations are shown on the RTA tour page.
  • Space is limited – Please register early to join the tour. Pre-registration is required. The cancellation deadline is June 11; however, substitutions are permitted through June 17.

RTA tours are excellent and efficient opportunities to connect with your fellow members as well as elected and transportation leaders across the region, hear from experts in a peer community, advance our regional priorities, and support our partners.

I hope that you and/or your associates can register to attend. Please let me or Jacob Rigg know if you have any questions.

Let’s get moving,
Joe Milazzo II, PE
RTA executive director
