RTA Member Briefing: April 26

RSVP you and your colleagues for 540 field visit

As noted last week, and in a communication from Jacob earlier in the week, we are less than only one month away from our next RTA field visit, where you will have an opportunity to network with your fellow RTA members from across the region while visiting a portion of the future 540 freeway.

Registration is now open for the RTA field visit of 540, which will be held on the morning of Thursday, May 23rd. You can have more than one member from your firm attend, but you do need to register in advance here.

Thank you again for attending the RTA Airline CEO Forum

On behalf of RTA chair Jay Irby and the entire RTA Regional Leadership Team:  thank you to everyone who attended our first-ever Airline CEO forum, featuring an outstanding speaker and leader in Copa Airlines CEO Pedro Heilbron. The attendance was great, and the media coverage phenomenal:  WRAL, CBS 17, ABC 11, Univision, Triangle Business Journal, News&Observer.

Barstow is back

For many years, there was a sign highlighting the 2,500+ miles to Barstow, California. Due to repeated unauthorized removals of the sign, it has been gone since 2009. It is now back; this week’s blog adds a little bit more background about the signs of our state’s longest Interstate freeway. Check out this week’s blog for more information, including a sign that remains “missing.”

Have a great weekend.

Let’s get moving,

Joe Milazzo II, PE
RTA Executive Director
