Member Briefing: August 19, 2022

Here is a brief weekly update from the RTA business coalition – the voice of the regional business community on transportation.

Another week, another federal funding win for transit in the Triangle

On the heels of a $35 million win for the City of Raleigh — our region’s first federal full funding grant agreement for BRT, that we discussed in last week’s blog — the Triangle received more than $15 million in additional funding to advance multimodal transportation. Cary received more than $10 million to create a new operations and maintenance facility for the Town’s growing GoCary system. Durham received more than $5 million to purchase up to six new battery-electric buses to replace the City’s current fleet. More in this week’s celebratory blog.

Help Grow RTA To Continue to Deliver Consensus and Action in the Triangle

I personally would like to thank all our members for their continued support. If you know any company who may be interested in joining, please forward their information to RTA Membership Operations Coordinator Jacob Rigg or CC him on an introduction email. This act will allow RTA to continue to grow, and to keep on delivering our promise of building consensus and action throughout the Triangle. Thank you to RTA membership and marketing chair Linda Hall with the Research Triangle Foundation, RTA’s first Omnia Gold member, for her leadership.

Thank you for your ongoing dedication to regional business leadership on mobility.

Let’s get moving,

Joe
RTA Executive Director
