2020 Transportation Breakfast

A FAST vision for the TrianglePresented by Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina

Tuesday, August 4, 2020
7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
The Umstead Hotel and Spa

Join the regional business community at the 2020 RTA Transportation Breakfast — presented by the Research Triangle Foundation of NC — for a presentation and discussion with the regional business community of the draft findings from an RTA study on enhanced regional transit.

Breakfast attendees will receive preliminary findings from the RTA FAST network study — funded by RTA in concert with GoTriangle and NCDOT — to develop a Freeway And Street-based Transit (FAST) network to link our region, complement upcoming bus rapid transit investments, and connect with RDU Airport as well as future commuter rail. Business executives and transportation leaders will also receive preliminary findings of an RTA study on the potential for further expansion of zero fare transit in our market. In addition, RTA members will discuss the future of work and mobility and implications for our region.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Maeve Gardner, GlaxoSmithKline, RTA 2020 chair
  • Jay Irby, First Citizens Bank, RTA rapid research chair
  • Scott Levitan, Research Triangle Foundation of NC, president and CEO

RTA and partners will release the preliminary findings of the Freeway And Street-based Transit study via an online briefing during the morning of July 16, 2020. More info about the FAST study at the following webpage:  www.letsgetmoving.org/FASTstudy

*Coronavirus registration note:  RTA looks forward to welcoming our members and partners at the RTA Transportation Breakfast event. However, the number of available registrations will depend on social distancing and event capacity requirements in force on day of event, so early registration is essential. RTA reserves the right to limit the number of attendees per company if there is a capacity restriction, and we may not be able to accommodate every member company. If North Carolina remains under a severe capacity limit for indoor gatherings we expect to convert the RTA Breakfast to a virtual event on the same date.

No refunds after July 20, unless we were to convert the event to an exclusive online (virtual) event, in which case the refund deadline will be extended to July 30.
