Join more than 300 regional business and civic leaders for the annual summer meeting of the metropolitan Triangle’s regional business leadership group on transportation. This year’s event will focus on the release of the regionwide FAST 2.0 transit study – a nearly $1 million initiative coordinated by NCDOT that is examining ways to accelerate the implementation of an enhanced regional Freeway, Arterial, Street, and Tactical-based (FAST) transit system for our market.
The FAST transit study includes recommendations to connect our region’s 10 proposed BRT corridors together via transit priority infrastructure, including linkages to RTP and RDU Airport. The event will also provide a brief, timely update on construction of the first Wake BRT corridor, along Raleigh’s New Bern Avenue – the first BRT corridor in the Carolinas. This year’s brunch event will be held in concert with the I-40 Regional Partnership — a cooperative initiative of RTA and NCDOT with other area partners, founded 15 years ago to provide an ongoing focus on I-40 for travel and commerce.
