Here is a brief weekly update from the RTA business coalition – the voice of the regional business community on transportation.

Next week’s intersection forum is packed with good ideas, great people
More than 60 RTA members and partners have registered to attend our second RTA-NCDOT Intersection Solutions Forum, hosted by RTA Leadership Team member SAS, on Thursday, March 21. We will hear ideas on new interchange designs, ongoing partnerships between RTA, NCDOT, and municipalities, and more. It is not too late to go or send a colleague. This is probably our most “technical” event, but still well worth attending if you or an associate has the interest. You can have it all – just not on every street
As our travel options progress – including enhanced bus transit, bicycles, and even scooters – each of our communities will need to determine how to ensure they can be successful. Prompted by the City of Raleigh’s downtown transportation meeting earlier this week and the launch of Citrix Cycle tomorrow, this week’s Thursday Thoughts at 3 blog speaks to the tradeoffs and opportunities associated with dedicating our limited street space to various modes of travel, particularly in our downtown areas. There is no “one size fits all answer” for making multimodal options work – not for our entire region, or even from street to street. I welcome your comments on the LinkedIn crosspost.

March means spring is close-by, and potholes too
Daylight savings time began earlier this week. That gives us another evening hour to spy the potholes that inevitably pop up this time of year in cities, towns, and rural areas across our region and state. Fortunately, NCDOT has made it very easy to report pothole locations. Here is the link, and if you forget or lose it, just type in letsgetmoving.org/potholes and we will redirect you there automatically.
