Durham County BRT — offer your perspectives on regional transit
The City of Durham is actively advancing the Central Durham BRT corridor. To complement and expand this effort, Durham County has an active study that is exploring potential regional BRT corridors to link residents, commuters, visitors, and more.
You can learn about the study, and submit feedback, in several ways:
- You can submit feedback via the County’s spring 2026 survey link.
- You can attend an in-person workshop next week, on Tuesday, May 19, from 5 pm – 7 pm at Durham Station (515 W. Pettigrew Street).
- You can participate in an online workshop on Wednesday, May 27, from 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm, via this link.
Kudos to our friends with the City of Durham and the County of Durham for advancing BRT infrastructure in the central county in our region.
If you are interested in learning more about BRT and other infrastructure and policy innovations and topics, I also encourage you to join us for our upcoming Maryland Leadership Briefing and Field Visit. The tour will be held on July 20-21. You can read more in this week’s blog. You can also learn more and/or register for the tour via this link.
RTA 2026 brunch – registration open
Here is another excellent engagement opportunity for our members and partners. Please register for our RTA 2026 Transportation Brunch event, which will be held on Friday, August 7, at the Westin RDU Airport hotel.
Our keynote speaker will be Andrew Miller, Ph.D., a consultant, advisor, and speaker on innovative mobility and smart cities. He writes a weekly newsletter, Changing Lanes, and has written op/eds for The Wall Street Journal, The Globe and Mail, The New York Post, and more. Andrew was formerly the Director of Mobility for Sidewalk Labs, Google’s smart-city firm, where he led development of innovative mobility systems for a proposed “city of the future” on the Toronto waterfront.
