Tom Tom traffic index — continued good performance in the Triangle
As we discussed during our annual meeting last month, Tom Tom released its new traffic comparison report earlier this year.
According to the Tom Tom traffic index, Raleigh saw a 0.6 percentage point decrease in average congestion in 2025, and we have comparatively higher average highway speeds. This week’s blog has a summary, including links to our region’s traffic index, and that of a few other comparison cities, including Phoenix, which I just visited last week, and the Greater Raleigh Chamber will be visiting later this spring.
Registration is now open for our next RTA major event
Thank you to everyone who attended the RTA 24th annual meeting last month.
RTA members and partners can now register for our next major event, and/or serve as a sponsor:
- RTA 2026 Transportation Brunch — Friday, August 6, 2026 letsgetmoving.org/brunch
- Our focus will be on innovation in transportation
As always, all RTA members have one or more tickets for all major events included with their membership. You can contact Jacob Rigg for additional information, and please get with our colleague Alea Morales to claim your included tickets. Our last two events sold out, including last month’s annual meeting and last year’s brunch, so be sure to make plans to attend and reserve your seats.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership, and let’s get moving.
Joe
