RTA members and partners,
Wake Forest launched The “Go Wake Forest” service on October 1st, and had the formal launch event earlier this week. This is an innovative microtransit service in northern Wake County’s largest community that will greatly improve connectivity and access for both residents and visitors.
Go Wake Forest works similar to a ride share service; riders can request a trip through Wake Forest’s mobile app or by calling 984-342-2319. Vans hold up to 5 riders, and there is no cost for patrons to use the service. The service is available within the town limits of Wake Forest in both Wake and Franklin counties; see this map for specific eligible locations.
The service hours are from 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekdays , 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Fridays, and 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturdays. The service is not available on Sundays, Thanksgiving, or Christmas.
This is a game-changing level of connectivity for the Wake Forest community. We look forward to learning how the service performs and any lessons learned.
You can view these FAQs for more information. Kudos to our friends in northern Wake County for activating a very promising, innovative transportation option!
Let’s get moving,
