A Successful RTA Transportation Brunch

Transportation Updates & Announcements at the Annual RTA Brunch Event

On August 6th, the Regional Transportation Alliance (RTA) hosted the 2024 RTA Transportation Brunch, bringing together more than 200 members of the regional business community and leaders in transportation and government at the Westin Raleigh-Durham Airport hotel. This event, which also served as the 2024 annual meeting of the I-40 Regional Partnership, centered on the acceleration of multimodal freeways, essential components of our metropolitan Triangle transportation system that keep our employees and businesses moving faster, together.

Attendees had the opportunity to receive updates on ongoing projects and a preview of forthcoming developments from prominent figures at the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the NC Turnpike Authority, and Research Triangle Park (RTP). Some highlights included progress reports on the expansion of I-40 and I-540, upcoming enhancements to local roadways and transit systems, and the GoTriangle regional transit center that will be built in RTP less than one mile from Interstate 40. The event provided valuable insights into the future of transportation in the Triangle, fostering collaborative discussions and partnership opportunities among industry professionals and public officials.
