Here is a brief weekly update from the RTA business coalition – the voice of the regional business community on transportation.
Our 21st annual meeting is this coming week… and, the following week!
Our largest major event of the year, our RTA 21st Annual Meeting — The State of Mobility 2023, presented by The Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina and GoTriangle, begins this coming Tuesday, January 24.
Part 1 will be will be online only at 11 am. Part 2 will be held exactly one week later on Tuesday, January 31st at 11 am and will be in person only at the Embassy Suites Raleigh/Durham/Research Triangle in Cary.
We refer to this two-part format as “asynchronous sequential hybrid.” While there are both online and in-person components, these are consecutive “parts” rather than “options”, since they do not occur at the same time, and they do not convey the same information, although several elements will build upon each other. We have used versions of this format successfully in past RTA meetings, including our 2020 and 2022 annual retreats. However, this month’s 21st annual meeting will be our largest event using an asynchronous sequential hybrid framework by far.
Signups for the event remain open; and we are now approaching 400 registrations from our region’s business leaders, elected leaders, and partners. As a reminder, RTA members have one or more tickets included with your membership, and each ticket provides access to both parts of the event. However, you must register in advance to attend, as space is limited and not guaranteed because we have (and are quickly approaching) the capacity limit at our in-person venue. So please secure your seat(s) ASAP.
If you have any questions about your the event, including tickets, sponsorships or the event overall, please contact Jacob Rigg, RTA membership operations coordinator, at jacob@letsgetmoving.org or 919.664.7062.
Speaking of events, the annual NC Transportation Summit was held this week.
This annual statewide transportation gathering in Raleigh is a treat to attend. I offer a few observations about the excellent 2023 summit, which was held this past Wednesday and Thursday, in our weekly blog.
Thank you for your ongoing dedication to regional business leadership on mobility.
Let’s get moving,
Joe
