RTA releases modular roundabouts report
In the last 20 years roundabouts have been successfully added to hundreds of intersections in North Carolina to improve safety and mobility. However, one challenge has been the construction cost. “Modular” roundabouts offer a novel way to implement these intersection improvements with significantly lower costs and impacts; the first one has now been installed in the western part of our state.  RTA Leadership Team member Bolton & Menk created a research report for RTA that summarizes the benefits and opportunities of modular roundabouts. We are releasing it today, and you can download it directly from this page:  www.letsgetmoving.org/ModularRoundabouts.

Raleigh drives to the top of the rankings
Earlier this month, Raleigh was named the best place to drive in America — or at least the most friendly to drivers. WalletHub ranked cities by 30 “driver friendliness” indicators, ranging from fuel prices to hours of congestion to cost of ownership. This week’s RTA blog delves into the rankings, which also had Durham in the top 1/3 of all cities.

Thank you for your ongoing dedication to regional business leadership on mobility.

Let’s get moving,

Joe
RTA Executive Director
