Here is a brief weekly update from the RTA business coalition — the voice of the regional business community on transportation.
Take the Southern BRT corridor survey
A public kickoff meeting was held earlier this week for Wake’s Southern BRT corridor. This will be the second bus rapid transit line constructed in Wake County, and the first to touch a community other than Raleigh. The proposed Raleigh to Garner corridor has a few route options, which you can help inform through this survey. You can find information on all four Wake BRT studies here, including a companion initiative concerning equitable development around transit.
Avoiding bias in decision-making
I often read Scientific American magazine, just to keep abreast of current thinking and what might be coming. I found a recent article to be of interest. To cut to the chase: the author challenges us to be sure to ask the question of, “what’s the data that’s not present?” I believe that the article is worth a read or scan, and the admonition to consider missing data will help each of us make better decisions. This week’s blog deals with a brief reflection on the article.
Thank you for your commitment to regional business leadership through your membership in the RTA!
Let’s get moving,
Joe
