The last mile just got easier in RTP.
Effective immediately, anyone traveling between either the Regional Transit Center or Boxyard RTP and a destination within the RTP Connect Zone can travel for free, thanks to a new “RTP Connect” partnership between GoTriangle, the Research Triangle Foundation, and Uber and Lyft.
The RTP Connect zone includes anywhere within the RTP freeway triangle formed by I-40, 540, and 147, plus the following additional areas within Research Triangle Park:
- north of I-40: areas that are east of Alston, south of Ellis or TW Alexander, and west of Page
- south of I-40: areas that are east of NC 55 and west of 540
- east of 540: areas along Davis Drive, north of Louis Stephens
You can visit this link for more info; you can make trips directly via the Uber or Lyft apps, or by calling GoTriangle at 919-485-7433.
This innovative pilot represents a practical solution to creating more of a sense of place within RTP while facilitating cost-and-time-effective mobility solutions in the center of the region.
Let’s get moving,
