RTA Member Briefing: February 21

RTA members and partners,

I hope everyone has a had a great, snowy week in the metropolitan Triangle. We have now had about 5″ of snow this winter.

For this week’s briefing, we speak of two opportunities for all RTA members to engage. There is no cost to attend, and this is an opportunity to have multiple people from your organization participate.

 

RTA and NCDOT to hold a webinar on BRT.

On Thursday, February 27, at 9 am, NCDOT and RTA will present the North Carolina BRT Opportunity Webinar. The event theme is “Building Roads for Transit:  Construction, Funding, and Benefits of BRT Infrastructure”. Roadway contractors across North Carolina will be a primary focus audience of the event. All RTA members are welcome to engage in the event; registration is now open at letsgetmoving.org/BRTwebinar.

 

RTA to hold second area caucus meeting of 2025.

Next month, on Tuesday, March 11, RTA will hold our RTA Northeastern Caucus Meeting in concert with the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce. The meeting will be a joint meeting with the Chamber’s government affairs committee.  The meeting will be held from 8 am to 10 am and hosted by RTA Leadership Team member the Town of Wake Forest. Our focus will be on accelerating US 1 multimodal freeway in Wake Forest and Raleigh. (Register online now.).

  • Wake Forest Mayor (and CAMPO chair) Vivian Jones
  • J.J. Eden with NC Turnpike Authority
  • Matt Clem with the City of Raleigh
  • Jason Cannon with the Town of Wake Forest
  • RTA chair Sarah Gaskill with FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies.
