Here is a brief weekly update from the RTA business coalition – the voice of the regional business community on transportation.
Ready for the restart: Icelandair launches at RDU
This week marks the commencement our first flights from Icelandair — and our newest international flights out of RDU. Our weekly blog speaks to this milestone.
Ready for I-885: RTA General Membership Meeting this coming Tuesday
We have more than 60 RTA members and partners registered for our first in-person RTA General Membership meeting of 2022, held in concert with the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce. While the official RSVP deadline has passed, if you email Jacob this afternoon and ask nicely I believe he will still register you — and we would love to see you with us.
Ready for runway: RTA letter writing campaign in full swing
At the RTA Regional Leadership Team meeting this afternoon, more than 20 additional member firms committed to signing support letters by July 1 to optimize and maximize federal funding to replace, relocate, and lengthen RDU’s primary runway. This is on top of the many companies that have already submitted letters to the Federal Aviation Administration. If you have not yet submitted a letter — or committed to so this spring — there is still time to make an impact. Please email Jacob with your interest and we will connect with you.
Thank you for your ongoing dedication to regional business leadership on mobility.
Let’s get moving,
Joe
RTA Executive Director
