RTA members,
For this week’s briefing, we will reference a few recent weekly RTA blogs.
Happy October, everyone. Have a great weekend.
Joe
Greetings from Charlottesville, and Richmond
Earlier this week I had the pleasure of spending a few days in central Virginia with seven dozen of my closest friends from the western Triangle.
The Chamber For a Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro held their biannual intercity visit to Charlottesville and Richmond. We had sessions on metropolitan growth, economic development, affordable housing, and university partnerships in Charlottesville, surrounding Albemarle County, and the University of Virginia. We also visited an excellent BRT system in Richmond, after traveling through multiple junior freeway segments in Charlottesville. Learn more in this week’s blog.

Here is a link to the excellent white pager; you can also earn more from this recent RTA weekly blog.
I-40 Partnership annual meeting – October 22, at SAS
A reminder that RTA members and partners will gather next month at the I-40 Regional Partnership annual meeting at SAS Institute in Cary on Thursday afternoon, October 22, beginning at 1 pm. The I-40 Regional Partnership is a public-private initiative coordinated by NCDOT and RTA since 2009, with an ongoing focus on improving the operation of Interstate 40, including access to and from the Interstate. You can register for the meeting via this link.
Thank you to RTA Leadership Team member SAS for hosting the I-40 meeting again this year, and congratulations to the Cary-based company on the occasion of their 50th anniversary.
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support of regional business leadership on transportation.
Let’s get moving,
Joe Milazzo II, PE
RTA executive director
