NCDOT launches excellent website of nearby projects
If you have wanted a simple way to learn more about active transportation projects, where they are, what they will do, etc., NCDOT has created a great answer.
This week our friends at NCDOT launched an excellent “Projects Near Me” interactive website. I encourage you to bookmark that page, and to take a few moments to explore the site. You can also learn more about the tool and its capabilities from the Department’s news release on the website launch.
This clearly took a lot of work to create, compile, and test. So kudos to the Department for putting this together.
For the convenience of our members, we have also created a redirect link: letsgetmoving.org/NCDOTprojects that will take you directly there.
Oh, the Places We’ll Go
Next week, the RTA business coalition and several of our partners will travel together for our first out-of-market overnight trip in more than four years, when we head to the Annapolis and suburban Maryland area.
We applaud honorary Maryland tour co-chairs Julie White, NCDOT Deputy Secretary for Multimodal Transportation, and NCDOT chief engineer Patrick Norman, for their leadership for the upcoming trip.
While we are looking forward to seeing the various freeway and transit places we will visit and receiving briefings on same, of most importance will be the chance to connect with our partners from Maryland — and with our fellow North Carolina colleagues and friends.
If you are joining us next week, I look forward to seeing you there, and either way we will have other upcoming field visits, including local ones in the metropolitan Triangle, and it will be wonderful to engage with more of our members then.
