Let’s move Raleigh forward this Tuesday
The City of Raleigh, the state’s capital city and our region’s largest municipality, has placed a transportation bond on the ballot for Tuesday. The improvements funded by the bond will range from roadway improvements for commuting and travel to new bike lanes to sidewalks. The regional business community has endorsed the referendum and RTA encourages all City residents to vote in favor on Tuesday, October 10! More info here: RaleighForRoads.com.

Promoting our region’s competitive advantage¬†
You may have heard that a large, Seattle-based company is exploring the development of a second headquarters in North America and the creation of 50,000 jobs over the next two years. A recent New York Times article reflected on Amazon’s search for their “HQ2” and RTA has offered the regional business community’s response, which focuses on our market’s competitive mobility advantage. I have also posted the response on my LinkedIn page – feel free to offer comments there.

I-40 widening in Wake and Johnston is coming
The Triangle’s main street is indeed the primary connection for travel between Johnston County and Wake County – and also between the Triangle and our coast. Fortunately, NCDOT is advancing a new widening project from the I-40/I-440/I-87 split down to NC 42 that will advance much needed relief for commuting, commerce, and tourism. You can learn more here and offer comments by October 20.

Thank you for your continued support of the RTA business coalition!

Let’s get moving,

Joe
