Governor Cooper signs Build NC into law
The Build NC innovative financing initiative was signed into law this week by Governor Cooper, following bipartisan approval from both the NC House and Senate and leadership by NCDOT Secretary Jim Trogdon. This new tool will enable NCDOT to accelerate a number of vital roadway projects consistent with the data-driven Strategic Transportation Investments (STI) prioritization framework. We were pleased to endorse Build NC earlier this spring, and the regional business community applauds our state leaders for advancing this initiative which will move many projects at the regional and local levels forward much more quickly in the Triangle and across the state.
Raleigh says let’s make Six Forks Rd. better
It is great to see projects with both a local and regional significance advance to final approval after years of effort. Six Forks Road north of I-440 in Raleigh is a great example of that. Kudos to the Raleigh City Council, which just approved a long-needed redesign of that multimodal corridor in concert with Raleigh professional staff, and to our partners at the Midtown Raleigh Alliance who have spearheaded this effort for many years.
As moves Morrisville, so moves the Triangle
It was a pleasure to join the Morrisville Chamber’s transportation event last week with several local and regional transportation partners and chamber colleagues. Transportation leaders from NCDOT, GoTriangle, and the Town of Morrisville provided excellent updates about upcoming roadway and transit improvements coming to western Wake County and across the region. You can download the full presentation here for more information.
Thank you for your membership in the voice of the regional business community on transportation!
Let’s get moving,
