RTA General Membership meeting accelerated to Feb. 22
We normally hold our winter/spring general membership meeting in March, but this year we are accelerating it to February and moving it to an evening time slot. Hosted by RTA Bronze member Wake Technical Community College at their southern Wake campus, and included with your membership, the Thursday, February 22nd meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. and feature updates on key projects. Mark your calendar, and sign-up here to attend.
Thank you for supporting 540 – let’s do it again on Feb. 22
Thank you to each RTA member – as well as several of our member chambers – who emailed letters of support for 540 this week. Fortunately, we have another, vital opportunity to demonstrate public support later this month for the top transportation priority of the regional business community. The Complete 540 public hearing will be held Thursday, Feb. 22, 7 p.m. at Wake Tech. You can attend the RTA general membership meeting earlier in the evening and then walk to the hearing to offer your support for accelerating 540.
New turnpike interchange begins construction
Construction began this week on the newest interchange for the existing 540 Triangle Expressway in western Wake County. Morrisville Parkway will be extended to meet 540 and create new accessibility in western Cary, between the NC 55 and Green Level West exchanges. Kudos to NCDOT, the NC Turnpike Authority, and the Town of Cary for making commutes easier in a very fast-growing area of the Triangle.
Your membership in RTA maximizes the voice and impact of the regional business community on transportation. Thank you for your support!
Let’s get moving,
Joe Milazzo II, PE
