Frontier vaults to RDU’s number 2 airline by number of destinations
Raleigh-Durham International had its largest single announcement of new destinations in more than a decade yesterday. Frontier Airlines announced that they are initiating service to Buffalo, Milwaukee, San Antonio and San Juan — all new destinations from RDU, bringing our total to 53 — plus added service to Houston and New Orleans. These and all nonstop flights are important because they provide flexibility and reduce uncertainty. Frontier now becomes RDU’s second-largest airline in terms of number of destinations, behind only Delta Air Lines, and these flight additions will boost competition and strengthen our overall balanced, diversified portfolio of airlines.
