Geoff Lang named RTA chair-elect
Geoff Lang, Vice President and General Manager of MetLife Global Technology and Operations Campus in Cary – an RTA Sustaining Gold member – has been named chair-elect of the Regional Transportation Alliance business coalition. Together with current chair Bruce Sargent, Director of North America Real Estate Strategy and Operations with RTA Gold member IBM, they will provide sustained business leadership for our organization as we continue to grow our membership and serve our region. We have had a long line of tremendous business leaders as volunteer chairs for more than 15 years, and Bruce and Geoff are continuing that legacy.

RTA and partners enjoy successful return to Richmond
The regional business community completed an excellent visit to Richmond, Virginia earlier this week, with more than 75 business, elected, and transportation officials from our area received very helpful briefings from leaders in central Virginia. You can view some of the conversation via #RTAtour18, download the presentations here, and see media coverage from WRAL here. We learned a great deal from this field visit of Richmond’s new bus rapid transit system, and we will have more to report in the coming days and weeks.

RTA leaders get moving and simplify mission statement
RTA is the voice of the regional business community on transportation. This week, the RTA Steering Committee voted to modify our mission statement to simply this: “RTA delivers business leadership to get our region moving faster.” You know that this business coalition is a big fan of a “less is more”, “faster beats slower”, and “results beats perfection” approach for our region, and our new mission statement captures those sentiments nicely.

Your RTA membership enables your company to make an informed, prominent impact on our region. Thank you for your investment!

Let’s get moving,

Joe Milazzo II, PE
RTA Executive Director
