About the 2019 RTA Business Briefing

The Regional Transportation Alliance business coalition and the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority welcome members of the regional business community to the 2019 RTA Business Briefing: The Future of RDU Airport. This behind-the-scenes briefing will be held on Monday, May 20.

Tailored for a regional business audience, this event will highlight the economic importance of aviation investments and elevate the funding needs and opportunities for continued growth at RDU Airport. Attendees will hear perspectives from airport executives, national experts, and state and federal legislators, including an out-of-market keynote presentation from Metropolitan Nashville (TN) Airport Authority CEO Doug Kreulen. Participants will also go on a behind-the-scenes tour of the RDU airfield.

About the focus on RDU Airport

“With air passenger traffic setting records every year, RDU’s infrastructure needs are far outpacing projections, as nearly $900 million in projects must be accelerated. The 2019 RTA Business Briefing will enable the regional business community to hone in on the needs and potential of our growing RDU Airport and respond accordingly and decisively.”
– Geoff Lang, MetLife, 2019 RTA Chair

“RDU International Airport has an estimated annual economic impact exceeding $12 billion. The regional business community has a keen interest in the continued success of RDU, and we look forward to a productive and impactful RTA business briefing event on May 20th.”
– Mike Schoenfeld, Duke University, RTA Air Service Chair
