As director of public relations at Rex Healthcare, Kerry oversees a variety of communication projects. She collaborates with senior leadership on corporate and community initiatives, directs event planning, public relations and works closely with the media relations team to tell Rex’s story to many audiences. Kerry also is highly engaged with sports marketing strategy and activation, including for the NHL Carolina Hurricanes, NC State Wolfpack and the web.com PGA Tour’s Rex Hospital Open.

Kerry has enjoyed healthcare marketing and public relations since her internship at Duke Raleigh Hospital (formerly Raleigh Community Hospital) as an undergrad at NC State in the Department of Communication. She received her BA in communication/public relations in 1998 and completed her master’s degree in organizational communication from NC State in May 2005. Her work was featured as “best practice” models and she is the recipient of a Gold Wallie Award, several Gold MarCom and Gold Hermes Awards and was nationally recognized as part of Rex Healthcare’s 2013 Best Hospital PR/Marketing team in the nation.

Passionate about our community, Kerry has been an active participant in the 2013 Wake County Community Health Needs Assessment and is a champion for Wake County’s Healthiest Capital County initiative. She also has served on multiple committees across the community including the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce’s Regional Transportation Alliance (RTA), NC Symphony, the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Sports Council and regularly represents Rex Healthcare at corporate and community functions. She is a graduate of Leadership Raleigh Class #28.

Kerry served on the board of the Raleigh Public Relations Society for five years and is former president of the NC State Communication Alumni Circle Board of Directors. She is the vice president of Public Relations for York Elementary School PTA and is currently planning the school’s 50th Anniversary celebration.

Kerry and her husband, Bryan, enjoy working on home renovation projects when they’re not cheering on the Wolfpack or chasing their two active children, Grayson and Elizabeth.
