RTA Regional Transit Chair
Prior to retirement, Mr. Braun focused his law practice in the areas of land use regulation, zoning, litigation and municipal law. He represented developers and property owners in a wide range of land use matters, including wetlands permitting, vested rights, rezoning, special use permitting and historic preservation, variance proceedings and related litigation.
Mr. Braun also taught municipal law and land use planning for NC State’s Master of Public Administration program.
He continues to volunteer with local boards, committees and nonprofits dedicated to solving social and economic issues vital to maintaining healthy and viable communities. Since 2013, he has served as a volunteer member of the Raleigh Planning Commission, which makes recommendations to the Raleigh City Council regarding pending rezoning requests and site plans.
